About Us

The Middleton Fire Department was established in 1890and is located in the middle of the beautiful AnnapolisValley, Nova Scotia nestled between the North and South Mountain.

Today the department remains a focal point of the community and will for many years to come. The department is strictly volunteers made up of both male and female from the community who supply emergency service to approximately 4,000 people to both the Town of Middleton and a small portion of Annapolis County 365days of the year covering 100 square miles.

The department is located at 49 Church Street in Middleton and is made up of 1 Chief, 2 Deputy Chiefs, 5 Captains and approximately 35 Firefighters. We operate out of one small station with 5 vehicles which include 2 pumpers, tanker, rescue and utility and on a year to year basis respond to approximately 100 calls ranging from structure Fires, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Mutual Aid, Medical Calls, Car Fires, Woods / Grass fires and whatever else you can think of. Training for the department takes place on the 2nd and 3rd Wednesday night of each month with truck inspections taking place on the 1st Wednesday night and Monthly Meeting taking place on the last Wednesday night. The department also utilizes the ACFSA & the Nova Scotia Firefighters School in Waverly to train its members to the Firefighter Level One either on site or at an offsite location.

Funding for the Middleton Fire Department is provided by the Town of Middleton and the County of Annapolis. Other funds provided come through donations, fundraising by our Department Fireflies

Auxiliary and the members them selves through fundraising.
